FHFA Extends Foreclosure And Evictions Moratorium For GSE-Backed Mortgages

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) has extended the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac moratorium on foreclosures and evictions until at least Tuesday, June 30, 2020 for enterprise-backed, single-family mortgages only. The current moratorium was set to expire Sunday, May 17. The measure was taken to give borrowers and renters who were at risk of losing their home due to the COVID-19 pandemic additional assistance during the time of crisis.
