Zillow research reveals that homes listed in mid-to-late spring happen to sell faster than homes listed in early spring. The research points out that while homes listed in early May sell for more, homes listed in April move much faster.
"For those looking to maximize proceeds from their sale, listings that hit the market in early May sold for almost 1% more than expected, or roughly $2,100 more on the nation’s typical home," according to the Zillow report. "Homes listed during the year’s fifth month tend to sell about 6 days faster than average."
However, if a homeowner is looking to sell their home expeditiously, April is their best bet. The weather seems to play a large part in these stats. The report states that with warmer weather in the air, homebuyers set a narrow window for purchasing and moving into a home. Most homebuyers want to be able to close on a home at the start of summer.
