Don't Mess With Texas

The Texas Mortgage Roundup returned to Dallas on September 4, and it was a day packed with insight, innovation, and inspiration for originators across the Lone Star State

The Texas Mortgage Roundup Brings Mortgage Pros Together

With the industry facing constant change, attendees filled the session rooms eager to sharpen their skills and strategies. The morning kicked off with Kendra Eakins of Newfi Wholesale breaking down the economy, interest rates, and the outlook for non-agency borrowers. From there, Sun West Mortgage took the stage to show how AI is already transforming underwriting and loan decisions with its Angel AI system.

The theme of building stronger businesses carried throughout the day. Freedom Mortgage hosted an engaging panel on creating a “4EVER Broker Business,” while Angel Oak’s Tom Perry helped attendees see how non-QM is opening doors for 2025. Serafin Rodarte from Equity Smart Home Loans shared actionable strategies to close more loans and streamline operations, and Rocket Pro VP of Business Strategy Marshall O'Keefe and Feras Chihadeh Divisional VP, delivered a motivating talk on the “Power of Choice.”

One of the most highly anticipated sessions featured Thuan Nguyen, CEO of Loan Factory, who pulled back the curtain on how he built one of the nation’s top-producing origination businesses, closing more than 11,600 loans. The day wrapped with a fast-paced look at 20 years of transformation in mortgage lending, reminding everyone how far the industry has come—and where it’s heading next.

Of course, no Roundup is complete without time in the exhibit hall. Attendees connected with lenders, vendors, and partners while enjoying lunch and networking, taking home tools and contacts to strengthen their businesses.

CE Bonus Day

On Friday, September 5, many originators stuck around to complete their 8-hour NMLS-approved CE class, taught live by MaxClass. This popular feature allows attendees to fulfill their federal license renewal requirements while making the most of their trip to Dallas.

More Texas Roundups Ahead

Dallas may be wrapped, but the Roundup continues across Texas with an event in Houston still to come before we had back to our Austin & San Antonio in 2026. Each stop gives local originators the chance to learn, network, and grow without the expense of traveling to national shows.

The Dallas edition showed once again why the Texas Mortgage Roundup is the state’s premier event for loan originators and brokers—bringing together the tools, insights, and connections needed to thrive in today’s market.
